We are excited to be partnering with our client, AVIV, on their search for a Principal Quality Engineer for their Product & Tech organization. 📍 Brussels or Ghent (Belgium) | Nearshore About the role We’re scaling our Product & Tech organization and looking for a Principal Quality Engineer to help us build an automation-first quality system where engineers own quality by default. This isn’t a traditional QA role—you’ll act as an enabler, defining the standards, tooling, and systems that help teams ship fast, safely, and independently while advancing how AI is applied to testing and quality. You’ll work on a product with strong market presence and scale, with the opportunity to influence quality engineering across the organization, drive modern automation-first practices, and help build an AI-native engineering environment. What you’ll do - Define quality standards and automation-first testing strategy (unit → E2E → regression) - Establish scalable test architecture, tooling, and CI/CD quality gates - Embed quality into development workflows and remove manual bottlenecks - Define “golden path” testing and enable safe experimentation (A/B testing, rollbacks) - Introduce AI-assisted testing (test generation, prioritization, anomaly detection) - Improve testability, observability, and system reliability - Strengthen regression safety nets while reducing manual QA - Analyze incidents and drive root cause improvements What success looks like - Faster delivery with high reliability - Fewer regressions and production issues - Strong automation coverage on critical journeys - Shorter lead time from commit to production Requirements - Strong experience in Quality Engineering / Software Testing - Proven track record with automation-first testing systems - Experience across API, web, and mobile testing - Solid understanding of test strategy and CI/CD - Experience with performance and scalability testing - Strong technical judgment and hands-on mindset - Ability to influence across teams - Experience with AI-assisted development or testing Nice to have: Mobile automation (iOS/Android), AI tooling integration, scaling quality practice
